Campus Life Programs Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Campus Life
Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Juan Diego Catholic High School, Draper UT
This is not a desk job—it’s a front-row seat to the lives of teenagers, for someone who wants to know students by name, walk with them through real life moments, and help create transformational experiences that actually matter.
We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible.
Position Summary
Juan Diego Catholic High School is seeking a bold, relational, and mission-driven person to join our Campus Life team as a Campus Life Programs Coordinator (Formation).
This role exists for someone who believes that high school is not just about programs—it’s about people. The Coordinator plays a key role in shaping the everyday student experience by helping design and produce retreats, cultivate meaningful leadership formation opportunities, recognize and nurture potential in students (especially when they don’t yet see it themselves), and champion campus traditions that foster belonging, faith, and authentic connection.
Working closely with students in grades 9–12, this position requires a consistent presence on campus, a genuine love for teenagers, and a passion for building trust-filled, transformative relationships. Reporting to the Director of Campus Life, the Coordinator collaborates closely with the Campus Life team, the Assistant Principal for Mission & Ministry, faculty, staff—and most importantly, student leaders—to ensure campus life programming is inclusive, intentional, well-executed, and responsive to the lived experiences of our students.
The ideal candidate is not afraid to jump into the middle of student life, bring creative energy to formation work, and help cultivate a school culture where every student knows they matter.
Core Responsibilities
- Co-create and support retreats, rites, rituals, liturgies, and campus traditions that form students spiritually, socially, and emotionally
- Accompany and mentor students through leadership programs, ambassador initiatives, and other formation-centered opportunities focused on the whole student
- Build meaningful relationships with students through daily presence, availability, and authentic engagement
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure campus life programming is accessible, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate
- Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of campus-wide events and activities
- Steward program logistics, timelines, and budgets in alignment with school and diocesan priorities
- Respond with care, emotional intelligence, and good judgment to student needs and interpersonal dynamics
Who This Is For:
This role is for someone who is deeply relational, energized by working with teenagers, and genuinely curious about who they are becoming. You love being around high school students and believe they are thoughtful, complex, and worth serious investment.
You lead with warmth, honesty, clarity, and healthy boundaries, and you communicate confidently with students, parents, and colleagues. You understand that presence matters—that faith formation and belonging happen as much in hallways, conversations, laughter, and shared moments as they do in structured programming.
You value and celebrate the diversity of our student population—culturally, ethnically, socially, spiritually, and economically—and you work intentionally to create inclusive, welcoming spaces where every student feels seen and known. You bring creativity and imagination to formation work and are willing to try something new, even when outcomes aren’t perfectly scripted.
You navigate conflict and complex dynamics with emotional intelligence and grace, manage time and details without losing sight of the bigger mission, and approach your work with humility, integrity, and purpose.
Spiritually, you demonstrate personal depth and maturity. You prioritize your own faith life, live with consistency, and are trusted by students and colleagues alike. You communicate honestly and transparently, maintain appropriate confidentiality, and understand campus life as a ministry of presence, accompaniment, and formation.
Most of all, you want your work to matter deeply—not just look good on a calendar.
This Position Is Not For You If:
- You prefer working behind the scenes rather than being visibly present with students
- You see retreats, rituals, or student leadership as boxes to check instead of formative experiences
- You are uncomfortable building relationships with adolescents or navigating the emotional complexity of teenage life
- You are looking for a predictable 8–3 job with minimal evening or weekend commitments
- You need everything to be perfectly scripted before you’re willing to engage
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; 2–5 years of experience working with teenagers in a related capacity preferred
- Experience in educational, ministerial, or formation-based settings
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Comfortable using technology for communication and planning
- Flexible schedule required, including evenings and occasional weekends
- Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required
A Final Word About This Role
This role is less about running programs and more about accompanying young people. It requires energy, empathy, flexibility, and a genuine belief in the power of relationship-driven formation. For the right person, it is demanding work—and deeply meaningful.
If you’re someone who wants to help shape a vibrant, faith-filled campus culture and walk alongside students during some of the most formative years of their lives, we would love to hear from you.
Benefits
Full benefits, health, dental, and vision and prescription health insurance coverage. 401k employer contributions, sick and personal paid leave, employer paid life insurance policy, campus tuition and daycare discounts.
