Campus Life Programs

Campus Life at Juan Diego represents a a group of people and programs that seek to provide a renewed commitment to enriching the faith journeys of all Juan Diego Catholic High School community members.

We desire to bring our community closer to one another and their faith through prayer; celebrating the Eucharist together; teaching and living the themes of social justice; and participating in class and group retreats, service programs, and our Campus Life Student Leadership opportunities.

Retreats

All students at Juan Diego Catholic High School are given the opportunity to experience a variety of retreats over the course of their four years. These special days of prayer, reflection, and discussion are thoughtfully planned to cater to each grade level's unique needs and stages of development.

  • Freshman Quest: Focuses on building community within the class and learning about the history and charism of Juan Diego.
  • Sophomore Overnight Retreat: Emphasizes the theme of belonging, helping students find their place within the school community.
  • Kairos: A unique and profound four-day retreat that delves deeply into our relationships with ourselves, others, and God. Kairos allows students to explore and share their personal stories while learning to appreciate the stories of others.
  • Sancta Terra: Our junior and senior classes attend and experience their respective Sancta Terra or “Sacred Ground" Retreats in the spring every year. The Junior Sancta Terra theme is being a “difference-maker” as they become the leaders of the school as the rising senior class. The Senior Sancta Terra encourages the senior class to embrace and remember their time on the Juan Diego Catholic High School Campus as they prepare to move on after graduation.

Student Government and Student Senate

These elected and appointed student leaders play a pivotal role in shaping the high school experience, representing the student body and organizing a variety of activities throughout the year. They are responsible for coordinating iconic events such as Homecoming and Prom, ensuring these memorable experiences reflect the spirit and enthusiasm of our school community. Their leadership not only enhances student life but also provides valuable opportunities for personal growth and development.

Student Ambassador Program

The Student Ambassadors, easily recognized by their blue blazers, embody the spirit and values of Juan Diego Catholic High School. As representatives and hosts, they play a crucial role in welcoming guests to our campus and attending numerous off-site events throughout the year. These ambassadors exemplify the ideal Juan Diego student in the larger community by ensuring the smooth operation of events and extending a warm welcome to hundreds of visitors, prospective students, parents, and VIPs. Applications are open for students at the end of their sophomore year and continuing through junior and senior years, the Student Ambassador Program offers a prestigious opportunity to serve as the face of Juan Diego and demonstrate leadership and hospitality both on and off campus.

Peer Ministry

Juan Diego’s Peer Ministers are dedicated to deepening their faith lives and cultivating a profound connection with God, others, and themselves. Through intentional reflection and heartfelt prayer, they strive to understand and nurture their spiritual journey. By leading retreats and engaging in spiritual mentorship, Peer Ministers not only enrich their own faith but also inspire and guide their peers in their spiritual growth. This sacred role empowers them to become true stewards of faith, fostering a compassionate and spiritually vibrant community at Juan Diego Catholic High School.

Social Justice Leadership

Social Justice Leaders are passionate about developing a more just school, community, and world. Through the planning of school-wide service projects and participation in complex discussions regarding global issues, students gain a deeper understanding of justice and a stronger sense of solidarity. Their commitment to social justice not only enriches their own perspectives but also empowers them to effect meaningful change in the broader community.

Student Faith and Liturgy

The spiritual vitality of our school community is deeply enriched by the dedicated members of the Student Faith and Liturgy Committee. By planning Masses, Prayer Services, Adoration, and other faith-based activities, this committee plays a crucial role in fostering spiritual growth among students from all walks of life and faith backgrounds. Their commitment helps nurture a vibrant faith life within our school, encouraging all students to deepen their relationship with God and each other.

STAMPs

Being a freshman is not easy. That's why our upperclassmen STAMPs (Students Assisting the Mentor Program) are paired with freshmen in their advisories to provide peer-to-peer mentorship and friendship. These mentors help freshmen navigate the transition into high school life by offering advice, answering questions, and providing genuine care and support. Through this program, freshmen gain valuable insights and build meaningful connections that ease their adjustment and foster a sense of belonging.
