Tuition & Financial Aid
In keeping with our mission, families who do not have the means of paying our full tuition rates may apply for tuition assistance/financial aid. In fact, more than 40% of our students/families receive assistance in the form of need-based tuition adjustments.
How to apply for financial aid?Families may apply for Tuition Assistance/Financial Aid online by completing a FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment (FGAA) by the IRS tax filing deadline each year. The FGAA analysis determines the recommended parental contribution for education.
How are tuition & fees determined? The Superintendent and the Associate Superintendent of the Diocese of Salt Lake City schools, in cooperation with the Diocesan School Board, school administration, and school board members determine the tuition and fees each year. All proposals are reviewed and approved by the Bishop of Salt Lake City. Annual increases are to be expected.

Scholarships
Utah Fits All
The Utah Fits All Scholarship (UFA) is a state-wide program that offers an $8,000 tax-free school-choice scholarship for K-12 students who choose to attend a private school, empowering families to choose which type of education suits their student best. Launched for the first time in the 2024/2025 school year, families across the Skaggs Catholic Center saw great success with 100% of those that applied receiving the scholarship.
But wait, there’s more! The state of Utah has already approved additional funding for the 2026/2027 school year, offering private school families an increased chance of receiving the scholarship. Do not sleep on this opportunity. Regardless of income, we highly encourage all Skaggs Catholic Center families to apply for this scholarship.
The application portal for new families applying for the 26/27 school year will open on April 1st, 2026. Here’s what you and your family can do to prepare in the meantime:
- File your 2025 taxes ASAP: The scholarship application will ask for proof of income using your federal 1040 tax form from the previous year.
- Create a Parent account: First & Last Name, Email Address, and choose a password. These are the login credentials you will use when the application portal opens.
- Gather essential documents: This includes your child’s birth certificate, proof of residency (such as a utility bill), and your 2025 1040 tax form.
- Stay in the loop: Visit www.utaheducationfitsall.org and sign up for their email list to be informed of key dates, timelines, and actionable items.

Carson Smith Opportunity Scholarship
The 2024 Utah State Legislature passed a bill merging the Special Needs Opportunity Scholarship program with the Carson Smith Scholarship program. Children First Education Fund (CFEF) will administer the new combined program. Scholarships are available for children in preschool, kindergarten, and grades 1-12, and may be used for private school tuition, books, supplies, and education-related therapies or treatments. Scholarships are generally awarded for a term of three years and may be renewed in 3-year increments, so long as the student continues to demonstrate eligibility. More information may be found at the CFEF website.
ACE Scholarships
ACE Scholarships are partial tuition scholarships, intended to provide added assistance lower-income families may need to enroll their child in a private school. Standard ACE award amounts are $3,000 for K-8 and $4,000 for high school, and no greater than 50% of private school tuition, yet may vary depending upon unique circumstances. Families are responsible for working out a payment plan with the school for the remainder of the tuition. More information may be found on the ACE website.
